Las oscilaciones caóticas se pueden usar en la generación de números aleatorios y comunicaciones seguras. Las superredes son una fuente atractiva para la generación sostenida de este tipo de oscilaciones: son totalmente electrónicas, miniaturizables y, sobre todo, funcionan a temperatura ambiente.

Chaotic oscillations are useful for the generation of random numbers and secure communications. Superlattices are a quite attractive source of self-sustained chaotic oscillations: they are fully electronic, miniaturizable, and, the most important feature, they work at room temperature.
